Memorial Day is referred to as the unofficial start of summer with the temperatures in the high 80s. I think it is.
The gardens are looking good but they need watering already.
Saturday was the last pot luck dinner until September with a pretty good turn out and a good variety of dishes to be sampled. Nobody ever goes away hungry from the pot luck dinner.
A short business meeting was held after the dinner to elect officers for the coming year. It was decided the offices would remain the same except Richard Pratt would replace Joyce as treasurer.
Richard had the Sunday night service with a message from Joshua chapter 1 verses 5 to 7 in thinking of those who have served in the armed forces and those who didn't return. "Be strong and of good courage." The promise in Joshua and also in Hebrews 5:13. "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." Several patriotic hymns were sung with Shirley Young at the piano.
Many residents were out to the cemetery, etc. today. Hope everybody had a happy Memorial Day. Let us all remember to pray for and with the families who have lost loved ones and especially for our veterans.
We are all glad to see Merle Welch home and on the mend after his hospital stay.
We wish to congratulate all graduates.
