Thanks to the little deer repellent we have the beautiful tulips this year not like last year when the deer ate them all.
I read Bill Bower's article about trouble with deer last year as well. I hope they had better luck this year.
The pot luck dinner last Saturday was cancelled due to the Maple Festival, Too many other things going on. It sure was a beautiful weekend for the festival.
Happy birthday goes out to Bob Beach celebrating his birthday on May 6th.
Many from Hillcrest attended the Maple Festival, Saturday and Sunday. Several also attended the trumpet concert at the Alba Church of Christ, Sunday night.
Richard Pratt had the Sunday night service here at Hillcrest with the message from 1st John Chapter 4 verses 7 to 11 and 19 to 21 with the key verse being the 19th: "We love Him because he first loved us." With lots of beautiful singing closing with "Oh How I Love Jesus."
We also enjoyed reading Bill Bower's article about Luther Fleming. I knew him well and bought groceries from his store when we were first married and lived in Windfall area.
We later visited him many times when he lived in Bailey's Corners for years with his sister Lillian Porter and later by himself after she died. We later in December 1977 purchased the property and some of his possessions were still there.
PS. I also enjoyed some of those pints of ice cream cut in half with his butcher knife while I was at Windfall School in the 8th grade.
Thursday last week Joyce and I enjoyed lunch at the Milky Way with Canton friends.
