The musical program was followed by the monthly Site Council meeting. It opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord's Prayer. The minutes and treasurer's reports were read and approved. Members were asked to be sure to sign up for the luncheon at the Iron Skillet on November 11th if they intend to go.
Volunteers are needed to help Micky Cavanaugh plant bulbs around the flag pole. We were also reminded to vote on November 3rd.
The Lions Club Halloween Party will be October 31st at the Lions' Club in Gillett. That will also be Trick or Treat night in South Creek Township from 5-8 p.m.
November 7th the Senior Citizens will host an Open House and bake sale including a book sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. November 7th is also the Harvest Dinner at the Gillett Baptist Church at 6 p.m. This is open to the public, but if you attend, bring a dish to pass.
On December 17th we will have a ham luncheon at Senior Citizens with all members attending furnishing a dish-to-pass.
Several people are sick or in the hospital. These include Marge Ulmer and Faye McCelland.
Helen Mickley said that anyone can get 6% off groceries at any Tops by filling out a questionnaire on the first Tuesday of the month. She also reported that electrical power would be turned off at 4 p.m. on the 15th for awhile.
The meeting concluded with a lunch of cubed steak with tomatoes and onions, sweet potatoes, cabbage noodles and pineapple.
