Let’s see. The President assures us that his “strategy” to defeat ISIS is working and does not have to be changed. (See note below). He assures us that ISIS has “been contained.” Then, despite his previous statements, after the Paris attacks the President decides to get tougher. And how does he do it? Why, by attending a Climate Change conference in Paris. “What greater rejection of those who would tear down our world than marshaling our best efforts to save it?,” the President says, referring of course to fighting climate change, which he believes is the greatest threat we face. Well, for starters, destroying ISIS and eliminating its underpinnings would send a pretty clear message. Anyway, holding the conference, he believes, “Is an act of defiance that proves nothing will deter us.” We imagine that the ISIS leaders are quaking in their boots.
Let’s see. The President thinks that America’s gun laws are lax, and that is the reason gun crimes occur here. So there he stands in Paris (the city where on November 13 ISIS terrorists murdered 130 people) and declares mass shootings are an American phenomenon: They “just don’t happen in other countries,” he declares. If George Bush had made the same statement under the same circumstances, the progressive left would ridicule him without cease.
Let’s see. Hillary Clinton assures us that she never sent or received classified material in emails on her home-brew server. With the latest release of her emails by the Department of State the total of “classified” emails is now 999. We are only two-thirds of the way through the pile – and we have no idea how many classified emails were among the 30,000 that Mrs. Clinton deleted. It turns out that Mrs. Clinton (who stated that she had nothing to do with the "talking points" propounded by UN Ambassador Susan Rice) held an unscheduled meeting with Ms. Rice shortly before her infamous five talk show appearances on the Sunday after the September 12, 2012 Benghazi attack. Wonder what they were talking about?
(Note: “Strategy” in this sense is laughably exaggerated – for no one properly could define what the President has been doing as “a plan, method or series of maneuvers for obtaining a specific goal.”)
