Because of the earlier edition I didn't see as many folks and the news box was on empty.
It was an eventful week around here however, ten folks made it to the coffee hour on Thursday. Although not all at once.
Carol Brown said that it counts even if they couldn't stop. So that made ten present or at least they passed by.
Carolers from the Canton Mennonite Church graced the residents here with their beautiful voices Wednesday evening. Not many residents were there because of other plans but they are appreciated and everyone here thanks them.
Residents here offer condolences to Helen Reed and her family at the passing of Fred. They just moved here this last week and we welcome Helen and hope she can enjoy her home here.
My granddaughters Kelsey Hicks with Alivia Joe and Amy DeCristo stopped in to visit on Wednesday. It's always good to have them.
Twenty-three residents gathered in the Community Room on Friday for the annual Christmas Party hosted by Barb Putman, office manager and Scott Abercrombie, the maintenance man.
It was a relaxing social time and enjoyed by all.
My son Ralph Lepper stopped in after Mass on Sunday bearing Christmas gifts for me. We had a nice visit before he had to leave in order to pickup up his grandson.
Residents were happy to see that Kathy Temple was able to join us for the party. Kathy has been recuperating at her sister Bonnie Vanemon's home since a fall resulting in some broken bones. Kathy said she will be there for a few weeks.
I'm sure Kathy's kitten "Flower", misses her, but I know she is being cared for by a kind neighbor.
Last Tuesday, Irma Earley and daughter Debbie Elliott took a car ride on the country roads around Canton. Later they had lunch with Maxine Shedden.
Irma attended the enjoyable pizza Christmas party, Friday.
Irma also reported that she has enjoyed receiving all the cards and letters from family and friends with Christmas greetings.
On Sunday, Irma enjoyed lunch at the Iron Skillet in Sylvania with her daughter Maxine and Davis Shedden.
Sunday evening, LaVonne McNett's niece, JoAnn Hagar from Pittsburgh and her nephew Jack Hagar from Midland, Texas stopped by for a visit on their way to Mansfield. LaVonne said that her niece, JoAnn gave her some homemade sauerkraut for her New Year's supper.
We wish our Editor and his staff at the Independent-Sentinel a blessed and Merry Christmas as they have some well deserved time with their families.
