As for news: on Thursday nine folks gathered for the popular Coffee Chat Time, always a good time to catch up with neighbors.
Arlene Quail reported that Marie O'Hara and her sister Donna Stone called on her Wednesday morning this last week.
Saturday, Jane Burgess from Grover visited Arlene.
Arlene Quail and Carol Brown attended the benefit for Mylo Putnam held at the American Legion in Towanda, Saturday. Jeannette May and I also attended that event. We went with Jeannette's daughter, Barby and Barry Matthews. The benefit was very well attended and it seemed quite successful to us. Saturday evening, Arlene Quail, along with Carol Brown and Roxie Holmes attended the harvest supper at the Methodist Church in Roaring Branch.
Last Friday, Irma Earley's sister-in-law, Mertella and Tom Smith from Morris Run came for a visit and they had lunch at the Iron Skillet in Sylvania before going on to Bradford County Manor to see Wilbur Morse. They then went to Twin Oaks to visit Paul Machmer, Sr. Irma's daughters, Maxine Shedden and Debbie Elliot joined them and they all said it was an enjoyable day.
Sunday after church, Irma went with daughter, Maxine and Dave Shedden to the Iron Skillet where they joined Nancy Glasmyre from Reading for lunch.
Kathy Temple and her sister Bonnie Vanemon attended the benefit dinner in Towanda, Saturday, then worked on their wood crafts until the lights went out at Bonnie's home. Sunday after attending church, they continued their work and finished several projects they had orders for.
Kathy went to work with Bonnie, Monday so she could run some errands she had been putting off.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hickok called on Jessie Herman, Sunday. Jessie commented how good it was to see them and to reminisce over times past.
Frances Kobbe said Steve Bastion took her to Williamsport last Monday for an appointment with Dr. Lightman, eye specialist.
Jim and Sue Tillotson, their daughter, Sarah and son Nolen Snedeker came to see his mother Charlotte Tillotson, Sunday.
My sister Jeannette and I made jelly, last Thursday and Friday. Wendy Lepper helped, Friday and we had fun. Of course we took time to have toast and jelly, yummy!
