My sisters, Jeannette May, Pauline Clark, and friend Susan Schiess and myself attended the wedding of our great-great nephew Tony and Jennifer (Cole) Pepper, Saturday afternoon. The wedding took place at D'Vine Vineyard and Winery in Columbia Crossroads.
It was a lovely wedding with a beautiful bride and her lovely attendants, even Mother Nature joined with loud thunder and flashes of lightning to celebrate their special day.
After Mass on Sunday, Jeannette May picked up our sister Pauline Clark in Granville Center and they drove to LeRoy Cemetery to check out the flowers, etc. They then drove around the area including Sunfish Pond and ended up in Canton for ice cram at Flavorland, before Jeannette drove Pauline home.
I went with my son Dann and Wendy Lepper to Columbia Crossroads after Mass on Sunday where we celebrated the birthdays of Marcus and Matt Oldroyd with a picnic by Haven's Pond.
After the meal there was even a "Pond Show" with the boys racing across the pond in their kayaks with a few spills and a few wet cell phones to make it competitive and fun for those of us watching.
When I saw Arlene Quail earlier, she said that her daughter, Cheryl Bahr called on her, Saturday morning.

On Tuesday, Julie Parker brought her little granddaughter to see Jessie Herman. I happened to see her as she was leaving so I was able to see the little one, also. She is adorable.
Jessie also reported that her son Jim Herman came to see her on Sunday.
Charlotte Tillotson said that her daughter, Faye Pepper spent Saturday afternoon with her.
Saturday, Frances Kobbe went with her daughter, Carol and Steve Bastion to a surprise 80th birthday party for Joan Davison Frances said the well attended party was held at the Armenia Mt. Debating Club.
Frances' son Richard and Barb Kobbe took her to New Albany, Sunday where they attended the Kobbe Reunion. There were more people than ever there, Frances said. One young man from Germany brought a copy of the Kobbe Coat of Arms and there were family members from Washington, DC, and several folks from Florida.
Frances was honored to receive a nice certificate for being the oldest family member.
As I returned from the picnic, Sunday afternoon, I saw that the tables all were set up for the monthly pot luck. I had forgotten it's the third Monday already. So I had to do some hustling to make a dish to pass. There's always lots of good food, however.
Twenty-one residents were present at the pot luck supper this evening. Jackie Wesneski was the only one celebrating a birthday in August.
Eric and Beverly Smith are celebrating a wedding anniversary this month.
Since Roxie Holmes is resigning from being the coordinator, a suggestion was made by Kathy Temple for residents to take the responsibility of coordinating one pot luck dinner a year. It was agreed to try that. Kathy will make up a sign up sheet. Roxie has agreed to continue doing the seasonal decorating and handling the community finances.
The Invocation was given by Kathy Temple before the meal
