There is other news here. When I saw Sally Johnson in the hall earlier, she reported that her sister Lorraine and husband Ray had visited her over the weekend.
Tuesday of this week, Arlene Quail said that she had met nine of her cousins at the Forksville Store for lunch. Some came from as far as Florida. Some from Lock Haven, but most were local, for the happy occasion.
Friday, Arlene reported that she was in Williamsport with her daughter, Julie Quail and granddaughter, Sondra to do some shopping. While there they stopped for lunch before returning to their homes.
After church services on Sunday. Irma Earley enjoyed an outing with her daughter Maxine and Dave Shedden and had lunch at the Iron Skillet in Sylvania.
Helen Reed reported that her son Ted and Vicki Reed from Hampton, VA came to visit on Saturday. Helen said it was a nice day as they took her for a nice dinner and had lunch out while here.
Kathy Temple reported that she and her sister Bonnie Vanemon traveled to the Williamsport area to run some errands and attend Kathy's former church picnic where they enjoyed seeing and visiting many friends.
Sunday, Kathy and Bonnie continued working on their wood crafts at Bonnie's home.
Carol Cole said that she is looking forward to a trip to Wilkes Barre with her daughter Jeanne Summers and friend Brenda Fitzgerald where they will be attending a veterans program going on there. Carol said that the girls are both veterans and that she is a widow of a veteran, so is entitled to join them for the event which is happening on Wednesday, August 12.
Carol Brown wrote that her granddaughter Haylee Fromille spent Sunday night and Monday with her. She said they had a great time sharing catching up on all their summer happenings.
Mary Turner said that she spent some time visiting her sister Trudy Moyer on Sunday.
Saturday, Jessie Herman's cousins, MaryAnn Mesco and her daughter Shannon Piffer came to see her. Sunday, Julie Parker brought her father, Paul Machmer, Sr., and his friend Mrs. Wheeler, who reside at Twin Oaks Personal Care Home in Granville Summit to visit Jessie.
Jessie's son James Herman spent some time with her, Sunday evening.
Frances Kobbe reported that her daughter Carol Bastion picked her up after church services on Sunday. They went to Mt. Pisgah where they attended a picnic with the Bastion family before all the youngsters return to school.
Frances said it was a beautiful and restful day by the lake there.
Jeannette May and I attended the August VIA meeting at the home of Lynda Quinn in Granville Center on Thursday this past week. After a luncheon meeting at the Milky Way Restaurant, Lynda presented a very interesting program on the art and history of quilting. Nine members and one guest attended the program.
Jeannette May's daughter, Becky and Dr. Scott, were here from Florida this week to attend the annual Pepper Family picnic on Saturday. They stayed with Barby and Barry Matthews while in the area, but were busy most of the time, picking blue berries and visiting friends in the area. Friday evening, I joined them at Barb's with most of the family for pizza.
We had a good attendance for the picnic at Bulkley's Pond. It changes every year, but always a good time.
Our cousins Brenton and Beverly Bailey came this year. It was good to seem them.
