Jeannette May reported that she has a new great-great grandniece, born in Elmira, NY last week. Jeannette also said that her friend Sheila Willson from Binghamton, NY had called and said she wasn't getting any squash on her vines. Her ninety-year old neighbor told her to use an artist brush to paint each blossom to pollinate them as there aren't enough bees to do the job. I guess Sheila took her advice so we'll see if it works.
As I was out and about earlier looking for news, I met Arlene Quail as she was leaving for an appointment in Williamsport. Arlene said that she had attended the Quail Family reunion over the week at the Forksville Fairground.
Jeannette and I attended our nephew P D Pepper's annual picnic down by the creek on Saturday afternoon. It was a very pleasant day catching up with family and enjoying the good food and the camp area.
Sunday after attending Mass, Jeannette and I went with my son Dann and Wendy Lepper for a ride up Lake Hill to check out the Timber Ridge Winery. It's a beautiful area up there. Dann also drove the long way home so we could see where the new Mennonite Church is being built.
After Irma Early and her daughter Debbie Elliott enjoyed a scenic mountain ride last Tuesday, they stopped to have a picnic with her daughter Maxine Shedden at her home.
After Church Service on Sunday Irma had lunch at the Iron Skillet in Sylvania. Irma always enjoys the ride there with her daughter Maxine and Dave Shedden.
Carol Brown reported that she was at Knoble's Grove over the weekend with her sister Deb and husband Dan. Carol said they were celebrating their great nephew Elliot Brackman's first birthday. It was a wonderful time, Carol said, and the food was delicious. She also commented how good it was to see Chris and his family.
Jessie Herman said that Alberta McIntosh came to see her on Wednesday last week.
Faye Pepper came bringing fresh vegetables from Brad's garden for her mother Charlotte Tillotson on Saturday.
On Thursday, Ron Kobbe drove his mother Frances for an appointment to have her hearing checked.
My granddaughter Jessie Lepper Oldroyd visited me last Friday afternoon and brought me some lovely flowers. She admired the table runner that my neighbor Barb Roupp made. It is very nice. Barb is a talented seamstress.
Pauline Watts is enjoying a visit from her son Kelly Watts from Arizona this week. While here Kelly took his mother for a car ride around the area.
