On Wednesday this last week, the Bradford County Manor Recreational Director, Diane Sindoni was at Cedar Ridge offering hand waxing from the residents. A few folks took advantage of that.
On Thursday, ten residents attended the popular Coffee Hour Chat Time.
Jeannette May was in Elmira, NY with her daughter, Barb Matthews for an appointment, last Wednesday. While there they did some shopping and stopped for a leisurely lunch. Jeannette said it was a relaxing mother, daughter day.
Wednesday morning, Arlene Quail's daughters, Susan Quail and Julie Quail paid her a surprise visit. They did some shopping in downtown Canton and had lunch at the Canton Chatterbox while here.
Arlene Quail said on Saturday she was in Laporte attending a bridal shower for a future granddaughter-in-law.
Barb Roupp said that she really enjoyed a visit from her grandson, Troy Richart and his four little ones, Friday evening. "It was so good to see them," she commented.
Nelle Jean Owen said that her daughter Tessa Page is in the hospital and that Tessa's sister, Kay Kerns drove from Watertown, NY to see her. While here she stopped in to see her mother Nelle Jean for a while before she had to head back to Watertown.
Debbie Elliot was here on Friday this last week and took her mother, Irma Earley to visit her brother Paul Machmer, Sr. at Twin Oaks.
After church services on Sunday, Irma enjoyed lunch at The Iron Skillet with her daughter Maxine and Dave Shedden.
Irma has been enjoying sitting in the gazebo these last three days of sunshine. Let's hope we get many more like days.
Mary Turner said she had a great day, Saturday. She was at her cousin Deanna May's home on Springbrook Drive for a family reunion with all her cousins and an aunt. Mary said they enjoyed the fireworks from the backyard and that the fireworks were awesome this year.
Charlotte Tillotson was in Williamsport Sunday afternoon attending a surprise birthday party for Sue Tillotson. Also attending were Kaye Pepper, and Brad and Faye Pepper, Charlotte's children who took her to the party, joining many other family members for the celebration.
Frances Kobbe reported that she had a lovely supper with Carol and Steve Bastion, Sunday. They took her for a country scenic ride round the mountains in Shunk, Forksville, etc. which she enjoyed. Frances said she also had fun doing some shopping at the Dollar General Store while out.
Kathy Temple and Carol Brown came in while I was checking the newsbox. Kathy said that she had taken Carol to have her stitches removed. Yea Carol! She also picked a few things up at the store while there.
Kathy and her sister Bonnie Vanemon were busy painting a sign on a large rock by her nephew's cabin. They have been helping him. Kathy showed me a picture of their work. Very nice!
Jeannette May and I went to Sunfish Pond Park with Dann and Wendy Lepper, Sunday afternoon. We haven't been there for a year or two and it has been much improved. We enjoyed checking out the new foot bridge, and some of the foot paths around the pond. Before leaving we stopped at the concession stand for a treat.
