Everyone is pleased to see more of the Hometown Hero Banners displayed. After Mass Sunday, I drove down by Cudd where my deceased husband W. Fran Pepper and son Ralph F. Lepper's banners are displayed.
I was at my son Dann and Wendy Lepper's home on the evening of May 12 to celebrate my granddaughter Jessy Lepper Oldroyd's birthday. I misplaced my notes, so neglected to add to the column last week, so - we'll add it here. Wendy made a delicious dinner for Jessy, her husband Markus, his parents, Scott and Marla Oldroyd, Matthew Oldroyd, his friend Megan Pick and myself. We ate dinner on the deck, but as the temperature cooled off pretty much, we all went inside to celebrate Jessy's Day with ice cream cake and coffee. The dogs, Finnegan and Rella were even celebrating with Jessy. I think they were hoping for some handouts and I'm sure they were successful.
On Sunday, I went with my son Dann and Wendy Lepper for a cookout with the Oldroyds and Havens in Columbia Cross Roads. Many family and friends were there to enjoy the chicken barbecue and other good food. A beautiful cake honoring Matthew Oldroyd on his recent graduation from Mansfield University and Brett Phillips' belated birthday, was served for dessert. Many were playing card games and other games were going on, also some folks were fishing. Wendy and I walked around the pond and were entertained by a very large fish who really was showing off for us. We were impressed. I guess you could call it a "Mini Pond World." Of course, Wendy didn't have her camera - darn!

The conversation got off on a different note and those who attended are waiting to see what's in our column - Sorry, girls and Glen - I can't remember, so you're safe.
