Jeannette May was getting ready to keep her appointment at ProCare this morning when I stopped, so I went on to see Pauline Watts. Pauline didn't have news, but she did get her daily paper this morning. Her paper didn't arrive on Sunday, so Jeanette and I waked to the Dandy where I bought one. We can't go with out the Sunday news on the third floor.
Arlene Quail reported that her daughter Carol Sager, Sayre, was here to visit her Tuesday afternoon.
Irma Earley enjoyed lunch at the home of her daughter, Maxine and Dave Shedden on Tuesday of this last week. Also attending were her nieces, Joan Scott from Iowa, Mary Hamblin, Rochester, NY, and Judy Kelley from Canton and her daughters, Maxine Shedden and Debbie Elliot.
Sunday, Irma attended a birthday party for her great grandson, Jacob Shedden at the home of Charles and Teresa Shedden.
Kathy Temple reported that she had a quiet Saturday at home. She took her cat "Flower" out for a walk with a leash. I'm sure Flower enjoyed that. She's a busy kitty cat!
Sunday, Kathy said she attended church and had lunch at her sister Bonnie's home, afterward.
Mary Turner reported that her sister Trudy Moyer drove her to Sayre for an appointment at Guthrie Clinic, Friday. After the appointment they did some grocery shopping at Aldi's. On their way home, Mary said they went through Arby's drive-through for sandwiches.
This last Saturday Mary Turner said that she joined others of her family in Muncy, PA where they celebrated her nephew, Brock Matthew's birthday. Mary said they had a good time and she saw her neighbor Jeannette May there also. Brock Jr. is Jeannette's great grandson, so she was there with her daughter, Barb and Barry Matthews. Jeannette said it was a very nice party for Brock and after enjoying birthday cake and ice cream, Brock and his friends went on to play basketball.
Jeannette said for a nice finish to the day, they stopped for supper on their return to Canton.
Jeannette also wanted to say Kudos to the folks who cleaned up Morse Park. We like walking by there and enjoying all the flowering shrubs and trees.
Now we need a crew to clean up the cigarette butts all over. They are very harmful for the environment, especially our water ways. I see in some areas that is being done; hope it catches on here.
Carol Brown reported that her granddaughter, Cheyenne Fromille invited her for lunch on Sunday. She said they had a good time.
When I saw Jessie Herman earlier, she said that Ron Taylor was here to visit her on Sunday.
Julie Parker also stopped to visit Jessie, Sunday.
Frances Kobbe is celebrating a birthday today. She had some beautiful flowers from her granddaughter, Stephanie and Joe Rutty when I stopped in this morning. She also had many lovely cards from family and friends.
Thursday Frances said the Alliance Women's meeting was held at her apartment.
Sunday, Frances enjoyed the fellowship dinner after church services.
Jeannette May and I both worked for awhile selling tickets for the VIA Auction on the Go" at the Chemung Canal Bank, Saturday morning.
Twenty residents were present at another successful pot luck super this evening.
Coordinator Roxie Holmes welcomed all and named the May birthday people, Frances Kobbe and Helen Reed, who are celebrating birthdays this month.
After the birthday song, Roxie gave a short report and update on the community finances, etc. before Eric Smith offered the invocation before the meal.
During the meal, three beautiful deer wandered out of the wooded area into the edge of the field and the residents enjoyed watching them before they turned and went back into the woods.
