Blessings
Along the river, swift and wide
The newly wed young lovers ride
Through the meadow and over the hill
To a little cottage peaceful and still.
Their life together there they will start
With joyful loving hand and heart.
Their future there is yet unknown;
Their trust they put in God alone.
There will be joys, there will be tears;
But He will bless them through the years.
Children will come, another joy;
A sweet little girl and a happy baby boy.
Time has passed, the children have grown;
And once again they are on their own.
A final journey time arrives.
One that follows joyous Christian lives.
Though eyes grow dim, and feet get slow;
They are not afraid to go.
Their Heavenly Father awaits them there;
For they have always trusted in His care.
