The flower beds have some blooms; the trees are budding; and the birds are singing early in the mornings. I think spring has finally arrived. What's not to love?
I stopped in at the Coffee Hour this past Thursday. The table was full of residents enjoying the social time. Pauline Watts reported that she counted eleven folks there. Our newest resident Loretta Porter was there. Loretta moved in last week. She said she really likes it here. The folks here at Cedar Ridge welcome her and wish her well as she gets settled in her new home.
When I stopped to see Arlene Quail she reported that Jane Burgess from Grover stopped in Saturday morning for a visit.
On Wednesday this last week, Susan Schiess invited Jeannette May and me to have breakfast at Kelley's Creek Side Restaurant. We were celebrating Jeannette's recent birthday in leisurely and enjoyable fashion.
Quite a few folks enjoyed the game of Dirty Bingo in the community room on Wednesday. Diane from Bradford County Manor coordinated the game for the residents.
Jeannette May and I were in Towanda on Tuesday. Jeannette was looking for a recliner chair, which was kinda fun. She's still looking, but while out we stopped at the Riverstone for a nice lunch.
Friday, Jeannette May's granddaughter, Jennelle May, who was in the area for a few days visiting family, stopped in to visit her grandmother and brought her nephews Tayton and Tommy Thompson, along with her. Jeannette made breakfast for them and invited me. We had a great time with those cute little boys and their aunt.
Jennelle lives near Philadelphia where she works for Merck as a lab technician.
Irma Earley reported that she along with her daughters, Maxine Shedden and Debbie Elliot started her spring house cleaning.
On Sunday, Irma enjoyed the beautiful sunny day having lunch at the Iron Skillet with Maxine Shedden after church services at the Ward Church.
Kathy Temple spent Saturday at her sister Bonnie's home. Kathy's nephew Chadd joined them later at TGIF in Elmira for supper.
Sunday, after church, Kathy and Bonnie visited their mom in Williamsport.
Kathy Temple spent Monday with her sister Bonnie at the Robert Packer Hospital where Bonnie underwent surgery on her knee. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Jessie Herman had some visitors this last week. Betty and Esther Laptian called on her Friday. Curt Machmer and Wendy Route came to see her and they had a nice time reminiscing, Monday of last week.
Jessie also said that Harry Jones stopped in to see her and some others, this last week.
Jeannette May went to visit her sister-in-law, Doris Dennison who is receiving therapy at St. Joseph's in Elmira. Jeannette said she also saw her niece Patty Cole and her daughter Reagan while there.
Frances Kobbe hosted the Alliance Women's Missionary meeting this last Thursday morning at her apartment.
Eight residents here enjoyed the game of bingo in the community room, Monday evening. Kathy Temple organized the game and called the numbers.
