Before I get into the Easter news, there were some other items from earlier in the week.
Jeannette May reported she saw LaVonne McNett working in the flower beds around here one day this past week. She told LaVonne that she was making sure it made the column, thanking her for making it so pretty around here. I could say the same for Esther Terwilliger. I saw her out there working early this morning. I'm sure there were also others we didn't see, but we appreciate them all!
Arlene Quail reported that she, along with Esther Terwilliger, Kathy Temple, and Carol Brown attended the Firemen's supper, Thursday.
Arlene Quail went to the last Lenten Luncheon with Roxie Holmes and Jackie Wesneski, Tuesday.
Carol Brown saw the movie "Furious 7" showing at the Rialto over the weekend. She reported it was very good if you like action movies and she would recommend it.
The residents of Cedar Ridge want to send out special thanks to the folks from the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) who made and served us a delicious spaghetti dinner with their own homemade sauce, last Tuesday. Everyone enjoyed it immensely.
After the meal, the Rev. Bonnie Browning spoke to the residents about the community gardens they offer to the community. The ministry is called "Gathered and Grown Community Garden" with space available for folks to rent.
Jeannette May and I made it to the coffee hour, Thursday before Jeannette's friend Sheila Wilston, her daughter Amy and granddaughter, Shandell came for a visit. We all enjoyed lunch at Flavorland before they left for their homes in Binghamton, NY.
Jessie Herman enjoyed a visit from her son Jim Herman and his son Dan Herman and family, Thursday. Jessie said they spent the afternoon and it was good to see Dan, as he lives in Arkport, NY, so she doesn't see him often.
Now for Easter happenings.
Jeannette May was at her daughter Barb and Barry Matthews' home with their family for an Easter feast. She said it was good to see the little ones and how they've grown and to see the newest great-great grandchild, Bobby Coles. Jeannette also said she saw a video of her great grandchild, Mason Scott in Florida, who seemed entranced by a very large Easter bunny.
Arlene Quail's daughter Carol and Tom Sager picked her up and they went to Willamsport for Easter dinner at her daughter Julie Quail's home with 12 other family members and friends.
Helen Reed enjoyed a delicious Easter feast with her daughter Edwina and Gene Wesneski.
Irma Earley attended the last Lenten Luncheon with daughters, Debbie Elliot and Maxine Shedden.
On Good Friday, Irma and Debbie called on Janet Segur. Irma attended the Sunrise service at Ward Church followed by a delicious Easter breakfast, Sunday.
Later in the day, Irma traveled to Towanda with her daughter Maxine and Davis Shedden to have Easter dinner with Debbie and Tom Elliot at their home. They enjoyed an afternoon visiting before returning to Canton.
Kathy Temple spent Saturday with her sister, Bonnie Vanemon in Elmira, NY Easter shopping.
After attending Sunrise services on Easter, Kathy and Bonnie traveled to Lairdsville for lunch at their brother, William Temple's home.
On their return they stopped in Williamsport to visit their mother who resides in a nursing home there. Kathy commented that she is happy to see some of the spring flowers coming out.
Barb Roupp said that she joined her daughter Debbie Richart and others of her family for Easter dinner. Barb said she enjoyed seeing her little grandchildren.
Sunday, Charlotte Tillotson had dinner with her daughter Faye and Brad Pepper and their son Josh and Dawn Pepper with their family. Charlotte said she heard from all her family on Easter. Another great day!, she commented.
Frances Kobbe was at her daughter Carol and Steve Bastion's home for a nice family dinner with the Bastion family.
Sunday, her son Ed Kobbe took her to her son Ron and Donna Kobbe's home, Mudcreek Rd. for dinner with the whole Kobbe family. Frances said she had a wonderful time.
After attending Mass with my sister Jeannette May, I stopped at my daughter Debbie and Denny Fousts' home to see the Deak family and Connor Foust before going to Troy with my son Dann and Wendy Lepper to celebrate Easter with the Oldroyd and Haven families. We were also celerating Dann Lepper and Marge Haven's birthdays. Dann's fell on Easter this year.
Mary Turner said she had a nice time at her sister Trudy and Jim Moyer's home where her whole family gathered to celebrate Easter
