The Coffee Chat Time picked up a bit on Thursday. Seven folks showed up for the social hour.
I met LaVonne McNett as she was coming out her door earlier and asked if she had anything to contribute to this column.
She, being an "on the go" person" said she is bored with this cold weather. So much so that she calls her brother, Randy Rice, who resides in Puyallap, WA and complains about the weather so much that he called her to see if she is alright.
When I stopped in to see Irma Earley, she was enjoying the sun coming in the front windows.
Irma said that it was good to get out for church service at the Ward United Methodist Church on the mountain on Sunday.
After the services she enjoyed the ride to Sylvania for lunch with her daughter Maxine and Davis Shedden. She commented how nice it was to see the sunshine.
Kathy Temple reported that she and her sister Bonnie Vanemon were in Williamsport on Saturday to visit their mother, who resides in a personal care home there.
Kathy said that their mother seemed better on Saturday and knew them both. Kathy commented that she and her sister had a planned belated birthday party for their mother and were happy that she enjoyed it.
Kathy also mentioned that she and some others are planning to start up bingo night here again. The game will be offered the second and fourth Mondays of each month. She will be posting a notice on the bulletin board with the details.
Frances Kobbe reported that she attended the community hymn sing at the Calvary Alliance Church featuring Martha Kress on Sunday. Frances commented that it was spirit-lifting and that she enjoyed the refreshments and fellowship following the program.
Eric Smith reported that he and Beverly attended the 35th anniversary celebration honoring Rev. Will and Carolyn Strunk for their years of service at the Grover Church of Christ in Grover. Eric said a dinner and program honoring the couple followed the Sunday services.,
One of those bugs going around here finally caught me, but thanks to my wonderful children who brought me what I needed, I stayed in all weekend and think I'm winning the battle.
