Then on Monday and Tuesday (Farm Days - Almanzo Wilder - at the Troy Museum) school kids from all over and as far away as Middleburg, PA came and learned about how things were in 1866. Casey Smith played the role of Almanzo and Remington Smith his best friend.
Almanzo is a character in the Little House on the Prairie books. The book used at the Farm Days took place when Almanzo was around seven years of age.
Others from Big Pond (Ruth Lee, Charlotte Stevens, Brooke Hinman, Abby Smith and me) took part as well.
Going back a week, Sayre hosted the Special Olympics. Jarrell Goodwin took second in long jump, third in a relay race. Alex Smith took third in a running event. Everyone was a winner!
Saturday Hildi Monro had a very big surprise. Hildi walked into the house and it was full of about sixty people waiting to celebrate her birthday. All had a good time.
Then on Sunday Church was at Lake Ondawa for Pastor Rich's and Phyllis's retirement party. There were 120 to 150 in attendance. After church there was a meal and a retirement cake. Pastor Rich and Phyllis got a lot of nice gifts. We will be sorry to see them go.
The new preacher is coming in July.
Alex Smith had a bad seizure and was sent to Geisinger Hospital. Alex is home now and doing OK.
