Our “Rose a Sharon” bush that I thought was going to be sparse has blossomed into a gorgeous specimen loaded with white flowers. As a matter of fact, there are quite a few flower gardens in Alba that are just beautiful. I see butterfly bushes, hibiscus, brown eyed Susan, purple cone flowers, and tons of varieties that certainly are a sight to behold. Someone brought dark purple gladiolas to church Sunday, and my friend Lois commented that it seemed quite early for glads. We surely didn’t want to rush the summer away! But, do I dare say it? We need rain!
Sunday’s special music at our Alba Church was brought to us by Jody Kenyon – on loan to us from the Leona Methodist Church. Animal humor for the day: “What do you get when you mix an abalone with a crocodile? Answer: “A Crock Of Baloney”. Now, that’s corny.
Quote by William Penn: “I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again”.
