Troy scored on the first drive of the game on a 41-yard carry by Ben Sherman. Collin Binford's extra point made it 7-0, and Troy soon built the lead to 14-0 when Nate Swain returned a recovered fumble 42 yards for a touchdown. Collin Binford added the extra point.
After a Sayre touchdown, the Trojans added two quick six-pointers, the first when Ben Sherman scored on a 56-yard run. The kick was blocked and Canton led 20-7.
On Troy's next possession, Collin Binford ran off a 55-yard touchdown gallop to make it 26-7 but Sayre responded with three touchdowns and a couple of two-point conversions to take a 29-26 lead early in the second half.
However, Troy regained its momentum and retook the lead on a two-yard carry by Ben Sherman and an extra point by Collin Binford, to make it 33-29.
Ben Sherman capped a nice drive with a 5-yard TD run, and Binford's extra point made it 40-29.
Troy's ground game turned in an awesome 418 yards in 42 carries.
Ben Sherman had a powerful game and he totaled 290 yards on thirty carries. Collin Binford added 59 yards on two carries. Clark Jackson carried the ball six times for 41 yards and Kurtis Roupp had 28 yards in four carries.
Quarterback Clark Jackson completed one of four passing attempts, for nine yards. Hunter Cohick caught the pass for nine yards.
Bailey Cohick accumulated 40 yards on kick returns. Kurtis Roupp had 64 yards on kick returns and 19 yard in punt returns.
Hunter Cohick led with ten solo tackles and Takoda Kelley had nine.
