Back on April 18 the Troy baseball team took part in the Shamokin Tournament.
Troy lost their opener, falling to Line Mountain, 10-1. Troy had five hits, two each by Isaac Havens and Chance Lantz and one by Kyle Schucker.
Chance Lantz drove in Issac Havens for Troy's only run.
Mitchell Morse worked the first 2 1/3 innings. He surrendered three earned runs. Isaac Havens pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up six runs on five hits and four walks.
The Trojans topped East Juniata, 14 to 4.
Isaac Havens doubled and had three singles. He drove in three runs and scored three times. Jarod Mattocks doubled and scored three runs and drove in three. Kyle Jackson had two hits and scored three runs. Kyle Schucker singled, drove in a run and scored twice. Collin Binford had two hits and scored a run and drove in one. Nick Stephani doubled and scored. Chance Lantz had a double and a single and drove in three runs. Mitchel Morse singled and drove in a run. Brock Schucker singled. Brandon Mattocks scored a run. Dane Smith drove in one.
Warriors Take District Title
The Canton baseball team defeated Cowanesque 12 to 1 on May 8 to win the NTL Division II championship.
Trevor Route smacked a pair of homers and had a single for Canton. He drove in five runs and scored twice.
Seth Robbins had a homer and a pair of singles. He scored twice and drove in a run.
Travis Butcher and Mason Moore each singled twice and scored two times. Moore also drove in a run.
Tyler Cole had a single and scored two runs. John Bowman had two singles, scored a run and drove in one.
Clayton Tymeson singled and scored.
Bryce Cole scored one run.
Silas Binford singled and scored.
Tyler Cole started for Canton. He pitched three innings and gave up three hits while striking out six. Clayton Tymeson fanned four batters in two innings.
Troy Boys Defeat Hughesville
The Troy baseball team advanced in the PIAA District IV playoffs, defeating Hughesville 5-4 on May 22 at East Troy.
Isaac Havens tripled and drove in two runs. Brandon Mattocks tripled and scored a run. Kyle Jackson doubled and drove in a run. Collin Binford singled and scored a run.
Troy also had hits from Kyle Schucker, Brck Schucker, Dane Smith and Mitchell Morse.
Clark Jackson and Jarod Mattocks each scored runs.
Kyle Schucker worked three innings, giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks. Isaac Havens worked four innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits and a pair of walks.
Troy will play Line Mountain in the District Semifinals on May 26.
Montgomery Tops Canton In District Play
The Canton baseball team lost a tough game to Montgomery in the District IV playoffs, losing 2 to 1 on May 23 at Williamsport.
John Bowman, the NTL pitcher of the year, was sharp, striking out 13 in the defeat. He fanned eight of the first nine batters in the game.
Canton scored when Bowman reached first on a strike three wild pitch. He advanced to second on a muffed pick-off play and scored on a single by Bryce Cole, the first of his two hits on the day.
Canton also had singles by Brenden Landis, Clayton Tymeson, Tyler Cole and Mason Moore.
Bowman was reached for five hits and Montgomery scored both runs in the fifth on a single, a triple, and a another single.
