William James Most

    William James Most, 73,  Gillette, NJ passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2017.
   Born and raised in rural Canton, Pennsylvania, Bill became an Eagle Scout, and was an avid basketball and football player. After graduating from Canton High School,    Bill attended Princeton University, where he received his bachelors and PhD in Aeronautical Engineering.     After graduating, he worked as an engineer for United Technologies in Hartford, CT. In 1973 he took a job with Exxon Research and Engineering in Linden, NJ retiring in 1998. Upon retirement Bill and some of his colleagues formed their own company, Fuel Technology Associates.  
    Bill has lived in Gillette for the past 43 years where he has enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, photography and a small assortment of rusty British sports cars.  Bill also enjoyed his time at the Raptor Trust in the Great Swamp, where he volunteered year-round for 15 years. He was the past president of the NJ State Chrysanthemum Society. 
     Son of the late William Russell Henry and Elizabeth (Wylie) Most, Bill was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Benjamin Most.         Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Arline (Foster) Most, his sons William Ryan Most and his significant other Holly Schoch of Sparland, IL, Zachary Foster Most and wife Stephanie of Austin, TX and his granddaughter Zoe Most. Bill is also survived by a close and loving extended family.
     A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday February 4th at 11AM-1PM, with a memorial service to follow at 1 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ 07933.
