Ronald LaRue Teribury

 Ronald LaRue Teribury, 81 of Gillett,  passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was loving husband of the late Linda M. (Pelchy) Teribury who passed away November 29, 2014.  The couple married in 1962 and had 52 happy years together.
   Ron was born on April 10, 1935 in Gillett, son of the late Karl S. and Bernice I. (Ameigh) Teribury. 
     He was a Troy High School graduate, was a US Army Veteran serving his country in the Korean War,  and retired from Fairway Spring Company of Horseheads, NY as the Lead Set Up Man.  He was a member of the Gillett Baptist Church, was a lifetime member of the South Creek Lions Club, and enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, and hunting.
​     Ron is survived by  children: James (Sharron) Teribury, Watkins Glen, NY, Timothy (Andi Simpson) Teribury, Troy, PA, Rebecca (Mike) Bradley, Mosherville, PA, and Keith (Annette Mitchell) Teribury, Gillett, PA; sixteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters Sharon Steves, Gillett and Vi Abbott,  Towanda; along with several nieces and nephews including his special care givers Courtney Burdick, Tammy Stone, and Vicki Teribury.

Robert K. Dunsmore

    Robert Kenneth “Bob” Dunsmore, 81, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
    Born on August 7, 1935 in Philipsburg, he was a son of J. Donald and Elizabeth Stahl Dunsmore.  On October 29, 1960 in Portville, NY, he married the former Janet Phillips, who survives.
    He was a 1953 graduate of Philipsburg High School, a 1957 graduate of Lock Haven State Teachers College and in 1968 he received his Master’s Degree from Ithaca College.  Mr. Dunsmore was employed at Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse from 1957 through 1962 and at Bolivar Central School from 1962 until his retirement in 1995.  He taught Phys. Ed., Health, and Driver’s Education.
     “Coach” Dunsmore was the head football coach at Bolivar Central School for 22 seasons where he was a two time “Big 30” Coach of the Year.  He was inducted into the Allegany, NY County Sports Hall of Fame, the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and the Section “V” Football Hall of Fame.  Shortly after his retirement, Coach Dunsmore was honored by the naming of the new Bolivar football stadium, the “Dunsmore-Latimer” Field.
    Mr. Dunsmore loved spending time with his entire family.  He loved attending their sporting events, vacationing together at Rehoboth Beach, and playing card games, especially Euchre.  Mr. & Mrs. Dunsmore enjoyed many years of traveling around the country competing in horseshoe tournaments.  Bob also ran horseshoe leagues and tournaments in Shinglehouse and Bolivar, NY.  Mr. Dunsmore was a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Shinglehouse.  He was easily recognized traveling throughout the area with his wife in his signature blue Dodge Omni.

Marguerite (Peg) Cobleigh

     Marguerite (Peg) Cobleigh, 96, wife of the late Theodore Cobleigh, went to be with the Lord on Saturday 29, 2016. 
     She is survived by sons Jerry Lee Cobleigh, Donald Jay (Beth Williams) Cobleigh; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren,; two sisters; three brothers;  and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Family and friends are welcome to call at the First United Methodist Church of Troy, PA, 1214 Redington Ave., on Saturday, November 5 from 9 to 10 a.m.  Funeral will be at 10 a.m.
    Burial, will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Harvey Trone

Harvey Trone, 98, of Canton, (LeRoy Twp.) passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.  
    Born on August 18, 1918 in Bethlehem, PA, Harvey Nelson Trone was a son of the late George and Ellen (Treubler) Trone.
  In 1940 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and began a distinguished 20-year military career. Serving as a Combat Medic with Company A’s 4th Medical Battalion, Harvey saw action at several of WWII’s infamous battles including Omaha Beach and on into Germany. A recipient of three Bronze Stars, he often said of his experiences, “What I did, I did for my country.” 
    After Harvey’s retirement from the military, he worked for several years at the Penn Troy Company in Troy. On October 2, 1949, he married the former Nora Daddario in Philadelphia. They were blessed with 67 years together and raised a daughter, to whom Harvey was very devoted. 
​     Harvey was of the Baptist and Lutheran faiths. He was a member of Allentown’s American Legion, Canton’s V.F.W. and Troy’s Masonic Lodge. He loved the beauty of nature and the outdoors, was a knowledgeable gardener, kept an immaculate yard and enjoyed hunting in earlier years. He also loved traveling to Florida with his family in their motor home.

   Jacqueline F. “Jackie” Smith Galamb, 49, of Gillett, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.
   She was born on December 15, 1966 in Waverly, NY the daughter of Irvin T. Smith, Jr. and Joyce D. Shepard.
   Jackie graduated from Northeast Bradford High School, Class of 1986. She worked for many years in retail. Jackie enjoyed reading books, crafts, and crocheting. She loved music and spending time outside listening to and watching birds. 
​    She is predeceased by her mother Joyce D. Mitzel, paternal grandparents, Irvin and Arlene Smith, Sr., and Clara I. Wizelman, maternal grandparents Elwin and Blanch Shepard, and cousins, Susan M. Kemp and Russell C. Edwards, Jr.

Vivian K. Bond

     Vivian K Bond “Viv” died at Maranatha Manor October 25, 2016 in Sebring, FL. She was 91.
    Viv was born on July 23, 1925 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to her parents, Minor and Lillian Kresge.         She trusted Christ as her Savior in Firwood Methodist Church at 10 years of age and was called to missions in Latin America while attending a Bible Conference at age 14. 
    She married Donald Bond June 11, 1949 while attending The King’s College where she received a BA in Languages.
    After Donald graduated from Baptist Bible Seminary in 1955, they were appointed by the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism to the Upper Amazon of Peru in May of that year. They left the US on December 26, 1956 and served in Peru until December 31, 2002. 
    Don and Viv were engaged in a church planting ministry and planted many churches in the Amazon jungle towns, the high Andes mountain villages, and the coastal cities of Peru. Both received a Masters of Religious Education from Grand Rapids Seminary in 1982.

Barbara A. Burk

   Barbara A. Burk, 81, of Troy, passed peacefully while surrounded by family on Monday, October 24, 2016.
     Barbara Ann was born February 13, 1935 in Canton, the daughter of the late Gerald McNeal and Grace (McIlwain) Wooster and the step-daughter of Clarence Elwin Wooster.  
    She married Clyde E. Burk on July 5, 1953 in the Canton Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ).
  Barbara retired from Troy First National Bank after 25 years of service.  She enjoyed times spent with family and friends, her summer home at Mountain Lake, volunteering at Troy Community Hospital, painting and knitting.
     Surviving are her beloved husband of 63 years, Clyde; daughter, Debra Bellows Gardner of Canandaigua, NY; sister, Joyce Rice, Canton, granddaughters, Annalisa Bellows, Rochester, NY, Theresa (Ryan) Monaghan and Sarah Bellows (Jamie Northrop) all of Naples, NY; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Adiah, Max and Finnegan, several nieces and nephews.

Donnamae "Donna" Lois Quick

     Donnamae “Donna” Lois Quick, age 68,  Canton,  died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the Troy Hospital.  
    She was born October 7, 1948 in Endicott, NY, a daughter of Orin and Jennifer (Maslin) White.          Donna was employed by Shop Vac before she retired.  She enjoyed painting, drawing, sculpture, crafts, sewing and cooking, spending time with family, grandchildren and her cats, "Smudge" and "Sissycat".
        Surviving are sons, Walter (Tanya Zerbe) Quick, Canton, Johnathan (Patricia) Quick,  East Smithfield, PA;  daughters, Samantha (Bradlee) Geer, Granville, Danielle (Donald) Finnerty, Canton; brother, Paul White, Columbia Cross Roads;  sister, Martha (Greg) Rogers, Tioga Center, NY; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren.  
    She was predeceased by her parents,  brother Ronnie White, and  sister, Margo Babcock.

Melvin Stauffer Good

Melvin Stauffer Good, age 83 years old, Canton, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 17, 2016.  
    He was born May 8, 1933 in Lancaster PA.  He married Irene Martin April 20, 1957.  Mel was a dairy farmer all of his life and also a Pastor at Wheelerville Mennonite Church.  
    Mel loved people;  family, friends, and those who needed a second chance.  He had a lifelong passion to connect people with Jesus.  
    Melvin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irene Good and his four sons and daughters-in-law:  Jay and Faye Good, Canton; Clair and Beth Good, Africa; Clifford and Cheryl Good, Muncy, PA; Jeff and Denise Good, East Berlin, PA.  Mel also had sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.  Eunice Ndgenda was his special caregiver for the last three years.
 He was predeceased by his sister, Marian (Richard) Martin in December 2015.

Evangeline "Van" M. (Angelo) Haven

Evangeline “Van” M.  (Angelo) Haven of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Sun City, AZ and Elmira, NY, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2016 after a brief illness.  Van was born in Rochester, NY, and graduated from Madison High School in Rochester. She lived in Elmira, NY until 1993, at which time she and her husband, Richard, retired to Sun City, AZ. Van moved to Bradenton, FL in March 2015 where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law. She held secretarial positions for a variety of companies/organizations including Catholic Family Services, Temple B’Nai Israel, Bendix Corp and the Star-Gazette.  She retired in 1990 from First Presbyterian Church where she was the secretary.
    Van is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ross (Marisa) VanDooser, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy (Bill Vinhage) VanDooser, step-grandsons Kurt (Wendy) Vinhage, Paul (Ashley) Vinhage and Julius Andales, brother Ralph Angelo Sr., brothers-in-law Emanuel Fico and Anthony Cianca, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dean and Nancy Haven, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Evie and Ronald (Dennis) Woodard, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, grand fur babies Rocky, Enzo, Buster, Halle and JLo.  Van was predeceased in death by husband of 32 years, Richard S. Haven, former husband Eugene R. VanDooser of 27 years, mother and father Ida and Ralph Angelo, mother and father-in-law Edna and Sterling Haven, former father-in-law George VanDooser, sister and brother-in-law Anne and Frank Giancursio, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Joseph Matrichisa, Sister Evelyn Fico, Sister Gloria (Bonnie) Cianca, sister-in-law Janet Angelo, and sister-in-law Alice Corcoran.
