Jerome "Jerry" L. Mase

   Jerome L. "Jerry" Mase, 69, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Bath VA Medical Center. 
    He was born June 3, 1948 to Thelma (Sechrist) and Milton Mase. 
    Jerry graduated from Southside High School then enlisted into the US Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam from 1968-1969, serving with the CoG, 2nd Bn, 5th Marine Regt, 1st Marine Division. Upon his return he attended BOCES for machinist training. 
    He worked for several machine shops around the area and retired in 1996. 
    Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna (Spencer) Mase; daughter, Laurie (Vince) Haduck; sons, Steven Moretz and Toby Mase; grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Colby and Amber; great grandchildren, Aubriella, Mason and Liam; brothers, James (Kurina) Mase, John (Janet) Mase and Jeffery (Brenda) Mase; sisters, Jackie (Bucky) Peel and Joy (Ermen) Paulo; sisters in law, Leatrice (Skip) Caseman and Deborah (Jeffery) Wilson; along with several nieces and nephews.

Dennis S. Perry

  Dennis S. Perry, 73, Canton,  passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Guthrie’s Troy Community Hospital.
   Born October 8, 1943, in Elmira, NY, Dennis Stuart Perry, “Denny” to family and friends, was a son of the late Ernest “Shorty” and Helen (Packard) Perry. He was a 1961 graduate of Canton High School. Denny served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea for one year and later served with the active Army Reserves until 1995. On July 9, 1966, he married the former Barbara Watkins in the Canton Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ). 
​   Denny was employed as head of security for Ward Manufacturing in Blossburg until retiring in 2014. A great fan of all Canton sports, he also was his children’s biggest supporter for their interests in school activities and sports. He also took great pride in spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Denny was a PIAA Football official and would often be asked to umpire baseball games. He assisted with Little League and the Teener Baseball Programs, coached Pop Warner Football and was Canton’s Varsity Basketball Coach for several years. He followed the NY Giants, NY Knicks and LA Dodger teams. Denny also was interested in history and was quite a history buff, he especially enjoyed anything military. He was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge No. 429.

Anne Schanbacher Lodge

 During the early morning hours of Sunday, June 25th, 2017, Anne (Schanbacher) Lodge, a lifelong resident of Grover and Canton, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior while at the Towanda Skilled Nursing Unit.  She was 82 years of age.
  Born in Grover on August 17th, 1934 she was the daughter of Charles and Edith (Fields) Schanbacher.  
    Anne was a retiree of the Paper Magic Co. in Troy where she had served as Customer Service manager. She was the widow of the late John Lodge with whom she raised a son and daughter.  Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.       
   Upon graduation from high school each grandchild was taken by Anne  on a trip anywhere in the world.  She was also a woman with a deep, abiding faith in the Lord, and was a lifelong faithful member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Grover.  Over the years Anne was faced with various physical challenges and health issues, but she found strength to see them through  in the words of Philippians 4:13, a Scripture verse by which she lived: “I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me.”

Glen D. Morgan

    Glen D. Morgan, 90, of Canton, PA passed away peacefully, Saturday June 24, 2017 at the Bradford County Manor.
 Glen Doyle Morgan was born on December 14, 1926 at his family’s home near Shunk, PA.         He was one of 15 children born in the family of the late William and Belle (Brown) Morgan.  
  As a young man, he worked on the family’s farm and was baptized at the former Maple Summit Church in Shunk.  Glen later graduated from the Estella High School in 1944. Shortly following graduation, He enlisted with the U.S. Army and proudly served our country during WWII. On April 18, 1950 Glen married the former Elizabeth Best in Bell Air, MD, together they celebrated 67 years and raised a daughter, Beverly.    Glen and Betty settled in Canton to make their home. He was one of the first people to be hired at the former Schrader-Bellows Valvair in Canton and had worked there over 40 years before retiring in 1990.  Glen will also be fondly remembered for his and Otto Morgan’s Hotdog Wagon, working together on the streets of Canton and the Dunn Hill Raceway.

  Joseph Michael Lohman, 58,Gillett, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 23, 2017 following declining health. 
    Born on Oct. 22, 1958 in New Brunswick, N.J., Joe was the son of the late John and Marie Disbrow Wilson. He married Jacqueline Ryan on Sept. 19, 1981 in Old Bridge, NJ. 
    Joe was formerly employed by South River Sand, S. River, NJ. An outdoorsman, Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing. ​

Gloria May Garrison Brown

  Gloria May (Garrison) Brown, 83, of Smithfield Township, PA passed away at home on Thursday, June 22, 2017 surrounded by her family.  She was the loving wife of the late Wellman Francis Brown who passed away June 5, 2015.  The couple married July 16, 1950 and would have had 65 years of marriage on their next anniversary.  
  Gloria was born on July 12, 1933 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Vernon Halsey and Louise Ann Patricia (Driscoll) Garrison Drake.
  She worked several places including A&P, Remington Rand, and Sayre Lingerie. Gloria was also co-owner with her husband Wellman in Brown’s Attic Antique Store as well as owner of Crafts by Gloria.  
​    She also cooked, baked, and decorated cakes professionally.  Gloria was a 20 year member of the Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church where she also taught Sunday School, was a member of the American Legion, the East Smithfield Garden Club, and the East Smithfield Fire Co. and Ambulance Ladies Auxiliary.           She was an avid bowler for many years, loved watching birds and feeding them, was an avid crocheter, making anything from table cloths to doilies to baby blankets, sweaters and hats, to bed spreads every stitch with love, as well as hand-made quilts for her family.

Anna M. (Hower) Good, of Twin Oaks Personal Care Home, and formerly of Mansfield and Camp Hill, passed away June 13, 2017. 
  She was the wife of the late John W. Good. 
    Anna was born October 29, 1927 in Danville, PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Murray) Hower. She was a 1945 graduate of Milton High School. She was proudly employed by the Presbyterian Homes in the 1960's. She retired from Mansfield University after 24 years of serving in the Office of the President.
    She is survived by children, Dr. Vance "Skip" Good and wife Jana, Troy, Barbara Good-Macblane and husband, Robert, Camp Hill and Mike Good and wife Sandy of Port Orange, FL; four grandchildren, Jackey Good and fiance, John Elliott, New York City; Shayne Good, Troy; Major Daniel Wilcox, US Army and wife Stefania, Fort Stewart, GA; and Bailey Good, Port Orange, FL.; sister-in-law Dorothy Hower, Milton; and several nieces and nephews.

     Andre was born December 27, 1938 in Berlin, New Hampshire, the son of the late Roch and Therese (Brunelle) Cayouette. 
    Andre was a Police Officer in Berlin, New Hampshire, Margate, Florida, a Corrections Officer in Bradford County, PA and a retired Deputy Sheriff (Bailiff) from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in Palm Beach County, FL. ​

George Earl Sergeant

 George Earl Sargeant, 72, Davenport, Fl., passed away, June 16, 2017, at his home surrounded by family and close friends.
 He was the loving husband of Karen DePew Sargeant, with whom he celebrated 20 years of marriage. 
  Born in Troy, Pa., George was the son of the late Russell and Frances Sargeant. 
   After graduating from Troy High School in 1963, he enlisted in the Navy and served two years before transferring to the Army, retiring after 20 years. George served in the Vietnam War and received many awards and citations including a Bronze Star.
  In 1966 he married Glenna Wilcox who passed away in 1995. 
  After returning to Troy, George met and married Karen DePew Seeley. They enjoyed traveling together and took many trips all over the country. George was known for the love, compassion and kindness he had for everyone he met. All he came in contact with felt his infectious smile and laughter.
​   George was a member of the Community of Faith Church in Davenport, Fla., but enjoyed his summertime visits to Bakerburg Community Church in Mainesburg, Pa. He was a lifetime member of American Legion No. 49 and the VFW No. 8675 in Troy.         His favorite hobby was his love of people and the time he spent with family. To know George was to love him.

Beverly Jean Hewitt

  Beverly Jean Hewitt DeWitt, 84, of 115 Edgewood Drive, Towanda, PA passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, June 15, 2017.  
  Beverly was born in Troy, PA on April 19, 1933 the daughter of Walter P. Hewitt and Lula McLane Hewitt.
    She was a graduate of Troy High School with the class of 1950 and on June 6, 1954, Beverly married Frank W. DeWitt in Troy, PA.  In later years, Beverly was employed by the Bradford County Head Start Program.
    Beverly was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Towanda where she served as a Deacon and held several additional positions.  Beverly dedicated her life to serving others.  She was an avid gardener, baker, quilter, and was an excellent seamstress.
​   She is survived by children, Stephen J. DeWitt Sr. and wife Ann of Poquoson, VA, Nancy L. Denniston and husband Craig of Lee Summit, MO, David W. DeWitt and wife Susan of Chambersburg, PA, Donna J. Maciejewski and husband Stephen, Red Lion, PA, William F. DeWitt and wife Terri of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Webb and husband Bo, Stephen J. DeWitt Jr., Brian DeWitt and wife Mandy, Patrick DeWitt, Matthew Denniston and wife Danielle,
