Addison Howard Spencer

   Addison Howard Spencer has passed away peacefully on May 31, 2016, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 98th year.
     He is predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Elissa vonGunten and by his sister Henrietta Choban.
    He will be remembered lovingly by his children Howard Spencer (LaVonne) Emily Steele, Janice Martin and David Spencer (Kathryn).
    Predeceased by his dear grandson Jeremy, he will be greatly missed by his adoring grandchildren Robert, Janelle (Mark), Addison (Nicole), Matthew and Alison, and his great grandchildren Hannah, Jack, Addison and Jaylee.
    Howard was born and raised in Roaring Branch by his parents Addison and Melvina.
     A devout Seventh Day Adventist his entire life, he attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Canton, Pennsylvania and College Park Seventh Day Adventist Church in Oshawa, Ontario.  
    During World War II he served in the US military tending to the wounded aboard hospital ships from England, Italy and the Philippines.

Jeffery Renzo

Jeffery Renzo, 53, Troy, PA passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Darway Healthcare Center in Estella.
    Born on august 18, 1962 in Troy, Jeffery Allen was a son of James and Marjorie (Wilcox) Renzo of Troy. He was a member of the 1980 graduating class of Troy High School and also served in the U.S. Army.
    Times shared with family and friends at get-togethers and reunions were very special to Jeffery.  He also liked hunting and everything about cars.
    In addition to his parents, surviving are a sister and brother; Kathleen Ayres of Columbia Cross Roads and Joe Renzo of Canton.  Also many friends and staff at Darway.
    He was predeceased by his brother John Renzo.

Robert C. "Bob" Longenecker

Robert C. “Bob” Longenecker, 78, Troy, formerly of Shunk and Berks County PA, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre
    Bob was born March 7, 1938 in Mohnton, PA, a son of the late Martin L. and Violet (Mosser) Longenecker.
     He was a 1956 graduate of Governor Miffin High School and later served in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Bob was a self-employed contractor for many years.
    He became specialized in many applications involving concrete work and was a construction foreman with Stief Concrete Co. of New Holland, PA until retiring.   After retiring, he moved to Sullivan County, PA where he worked as a landscaper and did lawn care.  Bob was an active member of Shunk’s United Methodist Church and a past member of the Evangelical Congregational Church in Mohnton.  He also served as a past Constable of Adamstown Borough, PA.   
    Bob’s passion in life was collecting and restoring antique cars and motorcycles.  He also was an avid gardener and landscaper; an enthusiastic bird watcher and a big fan of NASCAR.   Bob especially enjoyed times spent at many local car shows, flea markets and auctions.   He always looked forward to the spring and fall equipment auctions at the Troy Fair Grounds.

Milton VanNoy

    Milton VanNoy, Sr., 88, life-long resident of Granville Summit, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
     Milton Shephard VanNoy, “Milt” to family and friends, was born December 25, 1927 at the family home in Granville Summit.  He was a son of the late Eunice (Morrison) and Edwin VanNoy.  Milt was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army as a radio operator.  He was married to the former Dorna LaMont and they were blessed with six children.  Milt possessed a strong work ethic and remained active all his life.  He always enjoyed his work as a farmer and dairyman, owning and operating the Creek View Farms in Granville Township.  In earlier years, he also worked at Troy’s Craft Hosiery Mill.
     Milt was a member of the Troy VFW Post 8675.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was happiest when just being outdoors.
     Surviving are five children; Carolyn (David) Swain of Troy, Rosalyn Mosher of Granville Summit, Milton Jr. “Scooter” VanNoy of Granville Summit, Alan VanNoy of Troy and Dennis (Charlene) VanNoy of Troy, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Appel of Montour Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

     He was predeceased by his wife Dorna, who passed away on Feb. 26, 2006, a son, E.J. VanNoy and his brother, John VanNoy.
     In keeping with Mr. VanNoy’s wishes, a private burial will be held at a later date. Pepper Funeral Home in Canton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Audrey Fitzwater Johnson

Audrey Fitzwater Johnson, age 73, a well-known resident of Canton, passed away peacefully with her precious family beside her on May 24th, 2016.  Mrs. Johnson was born April 27th, 1943 in Beech Flats, Canton Township, Pa. to Kenneth and Josephine (Brown) Fitzwater, along with her twin brother, Alden.
     Audrey grew up on Lake Hill in the stone house that her father built, along with her cherished family.  She was educated first in the one room schoolhouse in Beech Flats, and later Canton High School, graduating with the class of June 1961.   Audrey was well loved by all who knew her. With  her bright blue eyes and warm smile she was a great  beauty and a classy lady.  In June of 1963 Audrey married Noel E. Johnson, and soon after the couple relocated to Munich, Germany where Noel was stationed with the U. S. Army as part of the NATO peacekeeping forces.   Some years later after returning home to Canton they settled into a comfortable life, and to their surprise and joy, welcomed their only child, daughter Noelle M. in 1974.  
   Audrey was baptized in the East Canton United Methodist Church.  She was a talented artist, and many sought her work through area clubs and  organizations, such as the Canton Rotary Club and the Canton Area School District.  She also was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

Helen Smith

Helen S. Smith, 88, Troy, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital.
    She was born November 2, 1927 in Vineyard Haven, Martha’s Vineyard, MA. Following high school she attended Colby College in New Hampshire where she met her husband James W. Smith.  Following college Helen was employed as a secretary at Western Electric in New York City and later at Piasecki Helicopter Manufacturing in Philadelphia, PA. She and “Doc’ married December 2, 1950. She later worked alongside “Doc” working at the Family Medical Practice for many years.
    Helen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, was a Pack Leader with the Boy Scouts of America. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time with her loving family. She also enjoyed her pets.

Alice Louise Palmer Hall

Alice Louise (Palmer) Hall, 97, Locust Grove, VA, and formerly of Columbia Cross Roads, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2016.  She was the loving wife of the late James M. Hall who passed away back in 1987.
    Alice was born on November 15, 1918 in Grover,  daughter of the late Grant and Laura (Howland) Palmer.  She was Cafeteria Manager for the Columbia Cross Roads Elementary School for 25 years.  Music was Alice’s passion.  She was a piano teacher for over 40 years and was the organist for the Columbia Cross Roads United Methodist Church, where she was a member for many years.  She was also a member of the Mountain Laurel Camping Club, the Wheel Inn, the Troy and Gillett Senior Centers, and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
    Alice is survived by her daughter Deborah L. Constantopoulos of Locust Grove, VA, her grandsons: Alexander (Melissa) Constantopoulos of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Damion (Elizabeth) Constantopoulos of Locust Grove, VA, her great granddaughters: Julia, Jillian, Ava, and Norah, her niece Lorie (Mark) Fallon of Thompson, PA and their children Amanda and Kirk, and her brother-in-law Wesley Hall.  Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Edward Buchla.

     The worst tragedies happen on the most beautiful days. Friday, May 20, 2016, James Lyle Bryington, 54, of Enola, PA; died following a motorcycle accident. Comforted by their faith and their community, the family forgives and grieves with the young man involved.
    Above all else, Jim loved Denise, They were together 35 years, his wife for 32. He will always be a father to his son and daughter; Jeremy and Jody. He will always be Pappy to his three grandchildren; Cyrus, Lilith and Mason. Jim welcomed Baby Mason who arrived just two days before. He is remembered by three brothers and four sisters; Gene (& Edwina), Wesneski. Tink (& Peg) Wesneski, Richard Wesneski, Sharon (& Burton) Robert of Gillett;  Vickie (& Ted) Reed, Hampton, VA;, Sandy Bryington,  Elimira; and Sherrie Husted, Canton. His network of family, friends, and coworkers too numerous to name, mourn his passing.

Robert A. "Bob" Castle

   Robert A. "Bob" Castle, 62, of Benton, died Thursday, May 19th, 2016 in Sugarloaf Township.
    Born December 18, 1953 in Troy, Bradford County, he was a son of Alfred and Phyllis (Bassett) Castle, of Canton, PA.  He and his wife, Teri (Spencer) Castle, celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on April 28th.
    Mr. Castle was a 1971 graduate of Canton High School and a 1973 graduate of Williamsport Area Community College, now known as Penn College of Technology where he earned his associate degree.
    A mechanical engineer, he was employed by Woltech Engineering and did contracting work for Talen Energy in Berwick.  
    His hobbies included sport bikes, snowmobiling, mountain biking, skiing, photography, Formula One racing and driving sports cars.  He was a lifelong New York Giants football fan.

Randall L. Pipher

    Randall L. “Randy” Pipher, 58, Towanda, PA, Burlington Township passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, May 18, 2016 at his home following a heart attack.
    “Randy” as he was known by his family and friends was born in Sayre, PA on September 14, 1957 the son of Roscoe and Phyllis VanKuren Pipher.
     Randy was a graduate of Troy High School.  He was formerly employed by Warner Tractor and Farm Equipment in East Troy and by S.P.E. Equipment in North Towanda.
      Randy began serving his first term as a Burlington Township Supervisor in January of 2016.
    Randy and his wife Barb also operated their antiques and furniture restoration business from their home for over 25 years.          He enjoyed the outdoors, cutting wood, hunting, fishing and restoring furniture.
    Surviving are his wife, Barbara D. “Barb” Drake Pipher; parents, Roscoe and Phyllis Pipher; children, Joshua (Leslie), Heather (Joseph), Wade (Kari), Lance and several grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be announced at a later date.  
     The Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home of Towanda is assisting the Pipher Family with arrangements.
