On the morning of Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Robert Duane Putnam, Sr. went to be with his wife LaRene and passed away at home surrounded by his family. Bob was born on June 2, 1931 in Canton, PA, son of the late William and Gertrude (Wood) Putnam.
He was a 1950 Troy High School graduate and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy.
He married the love of his life Wilma LaRene Krise on June 26, 1954 and had 62 wonderful years together. She passed away November 14, 2016 and he patiently waited to join her.
Bob ran Putnam’s Garage on Fallbrook Road for over 35 years. He was well liked and many folks stopped just to visit, whether they needed a vehicle fixed or not. He loved to travel and made many trips to Cocoa Beach, FL.
He also enjoyed riding snow mobiles and four wheelers and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Putnam, Canton, Howard L. and Terry (Hill) Putnam, Dushore, Barry E. and Staci (Haflett) Putnam, Troy; grandchildren: Eric Putnam and Nikki Morrison, Michael Putnam and Maureen House, Terry and Arrell (Rockwell) Putnam, Adam Putnam and Sarah Fowler, Shawn and Tiffany (Morgan) Putnam, Ryan Putnam, Shane and Jessica (Chrzan) Case, Shannon Case and Chad Shaylor, Erin Case and Neil Herman, Gage Mattocks, Chelsea Mattocks, Todd and Kimberly (Thomas) Putnam, Jamie Putnam, Heather (Johnston) and Kenneth Bohner, Sarah (Johnston) and Steve Murray, Travis and Crystal (Rhodes) Putnam, Kristin Putnam and Joshua Carter, Stephanie Putnam, Natalie and Derrick Insinger, Summer and Joseph Finan, Justin Putnam, and Caden Putnam; 24 great grandchildren; brothers: Leon Putnam, Troy, Jules and Barbara (Cole) Putnam, Sayre; brothers-in-law Paul and Linda (May) Krise, Canton, Albert and Ethel (Brown) Krise, Canton; sisters-in-law Donna and Robert Case, Troy, PA, and Joyce and Alton Case, Troy, PA; along with several nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, parents-in-law, brother Dale Putnam, daughter Jana Lynn Putnam, daughter-in-law Suzanne (Silvernail) Putnam, and his dear wife LaRene.
The funeral service to honor Bob's life was held on January 21 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. Troy, with Rev. Garry Zuber officiating.
Burial will private and in Glenwood Cemetery.
