He was born on February 12, 1954, in Pittsburgh, PA to Martin and Elizabeth Kunzmann. He was the third of nine children. He began his career at IBM as a computer programmer in New York state. In March of 1990, he and his family moved to Canton, PA and began a new career as owner of Chrissy’s Food & Friends, which mainly served pizza and subs. After the restaurant was destroyed in a fire in the year 2000, he became the bookkeeper for several local businesses.
He was a loving husband, father, and friend to everyone. He dedicated much of his life to ministering Jesus to others, whether in far off places like Mexico and Honduras, or locally through the Endless Mountains Mission Center, New Beginnings Rehab, as an elder at North Street Community Church or even in his daily interactions in the workplace. His life was marked by the fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. He had many hobbies and interests which included board games, card games, puzzles, crosswords, hanging out at bookstores, travel, golfing, bowling, hunting, and nature walks. He had a great appreciation for books, music, and movies. He loved fellowship, always prioritizing time with the Lord and time with other people.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his children, Jamie (Ryan) Brooks, Joy (Jeremy) Pratt, Joshua (Mary Anne) Kunzmann; his stepdaughter Emily Kelchner; his grandchildren: Adelise, Heidi, and Avery; his former wife and mother of his children, Chris Schreiber; his siblings, Karen (Joe and critters), Duane (Peggy), David (Paula), Danny (Julie), Cindy (Peter), Carol, and Joe (Susan); numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Jimmy (Donna), and his parents, Martin and Elizabeth.
