Born July 12th, 1934 in Lewis Township, Lycoming County, Pa., she was the daughter of John and Mildred (Stryker) Russell. Lavonne was an avid New England Patriots fan, having followed the team since its beginning. She had been an accomplished bowler in previous years and was part of a championship team in the early 1970’s.
She enjoyed singing along with the radio or phonograph, especially while working around the house and she loved to cook and bake for her family. She was also fond of Polka dancing.
Lavonne was a loving and devoted mother who enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. There she taught her children to swim and to appreciate nature. She loved the changing of the seasons, especially fall and spring, and from her home nestled among the trees on the hillside she enjoyed a front row view of God’s creative beauty.
Surviving are sons, James Vroman of Ark., Archie (& Cindy) Vroman, Canton, Terry Vroman, Trout Run, Douglas Vroman, Ralston, Wayne Vroman of Ark., Michael (& Jeanette) Vroman of IL.; daughters Cheryl Staton, Williamsport and Hazel (& Thomas) Wilger of IL; sister Peg Forer ,Liberty; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie W. Vroman, as well as several brothers and sisters.
