On April 8, 1950, he married the former Dorothy M. “Dot” Andrus at the Burlington United Methodist Parsonage. In early years, Ken was employed by Cox’s Tire Shop in Towanda and by Westinghouse Corp. in Elmira, NY. He owned and operated his dairy farm at Mountain Lake for many years and continued working on the farm until the time of his passing. Ken also served as a school bus driver for the Troy School District for a number of years. He was a member of the Burlington United Methodist Church, Iona Grange, Bradford-Sullivan Pomona Grange, Pennsylvania State Grange, and was a 7th degree member of the National Grange. Ken was also a member of the Holstein USA Association for 47 years, Pennsylvania Holstein Association, Towanda Bowling Hall of Fame and the Troy Bowling Hall of Fame. He loved the outdoors, farming, bowling, playing cards and dancing.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy, on July 16, 2001, brother, Walter Carl Harris on September 6, 2009 and an infant brother.
A funeral service was held September 16, 2017, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home Towanda, PA.
Interment followed in Bradford County Memorial Park, Burlington Township, PA.
