He was born July 19th, 1957, in Batavia, NY, the son of Duane A. and Patsy Burbage Scheepsma. Jeff was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Kathleen Doris Burbage, favorite uncle, Walter Burbage, Jr., and his biological father, Duane. He is also the son of Victor and Patsy Burbage Chapman, of Columbia Cross Roads, Pa. He leaves 2 loving sisters, Lori Scheepsma Antonson, of Chatham, NY, and Lisa K Scheepsma, of Waverly, NY., a step-sister, Lisa Chapman Schucker, of Sylvania, Pa., and a step-brother, Rodney Chapman, of Florida.
Also surviving are his dear nephews and nieces, Justin L Robinson, of Virginia, Casey Jeffrey Duane Voorhees, of Waverly, NY., Krista Antonson, of Chatham, NY, Hannah Antonson, of Texas, Adrienne Antonson, of Illinois, and Jacquelyn Antonson (Tobi) Greiff, of Maryland. He was a caring uncle to three great nieces, Nelayna and Arya Robinson, of Virginia, Jayden Voorhees, of Waverly, and a much anticipated great niece-to-be, of Maryland. He is also survived by many special cousins, including Cheri Burbage Thomas, of Big Pond, PA, and his faithful, loving, canine companion, Tara.
Jeff had a life-long love for cars, and was a die-hard NASCAR fan. He collected and built model cars, since age 10. He also collected Matchbox and Hot Wheels vehicles. He, and his step-dad Victor, participated in local demolition derbies, where they won numerous trophies. He leaves behind many childhood friends in the Elmira area. Jeff will always be remembered for his signature sense of humor and wit, and his undying love for his family. A Celebration of LIfe, in Jeff's memory, is being planned by the family, and will be announced at a later date.
Our family would like to thank Dan Gilliland, of Vickery Funeral Home, in Troy, for all his help with arrangements for Jeff. He is a very kind, compassionate man, and we are very thankful for his efforts in making it easier for us to make the decisions before us, from out-of-state.
