Born the youngest of six on June 7, 1932, in Bradford County, he graduated from Troy Area High School in 1950. His military service was with the US Army in West Germany during the Korean Conflict. Married to Norma in 1954, in 1964 he moved his family to Owego, and was employed by IBM until his retirement in 1987. His career included working on the early computers for NASA’s Space Program. He and Norma were avid bowlers, and he golfed with similar devotion. Widowed in 1997, he moved to Albuquerque in 2001. He and Ann enjoyed travel including excursions to Alaska, Australia & New Zealand, and numerous RV trips around the US. They were also active members of Round Dance Clubs where they made many friends. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral services, and his ashes will be interred at Mountain Lake Cemetery, Burlington, PA at the family’s convenience.
He was predeceased by his wife Norma (Darrow) Rubert, and daughter, Shirley Rubert, parents John William Rubert and Ruth Elizabeth (Biles) (Rubert) Carmen, sisters Hester Rock, Helen Robare, and Mildred Kellock, and brother Raymond Rubert.
