Florence G. (O’Donnell) Palmer 90, New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on July 27, 2017 at Ingleside Assisted living.
Florence was born on February 5, 1927 in Lock Haven, PA. She graduated at the top of her class from Beebe School of Nursing in 1947 and went on to work as a nurse until she retired at the age of 72.
She was a member of St. Peters Church for 55 years. She was also active in RCIA, Good Samaritan and Novena to Sacred Heart. Florence enjoyed reading and loved listening to Irish music, and was fortunate to travel to Ireland.
She was passionate about her career as a nurse and her family and friends as well as her love for the Lord.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband Francis H.; son, Stephen H.; and daughter, Patricia.

She is survived by her daughters, Frances (Mowery) Field of Lewes, Susan Shattuck (Dennis) of Canton, PA., Sharon Thompson of New Castle, and Beverly McClure (Jerry) of New Castle; her brother, Paul O’Donnell (Norma) of Bellefonte, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held August 2 at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, New Castle.
Interment was in the adjoining cemetery following the Mass.
