Patricia A. Davison, widow of Bill Davison, passed away on Mar. 5, 2019 surrounded by her family. Formerly a resident of Canton Borough she was living at her son and daughter-in-law's home in LeRoy Township at the time of her passing. Pat, as she liked to be called, was a spunky woman with a “tell-it-like-it-is” attitude. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born Aug. 3, 1944 in Sayre, Pa., she was the daughter of Dean (& Mida) Landon. She was a graduate of Canton High School, Class of 1964. Following graduation pat worked at many jobs including Canford's, Eureka, Farmsworth Cookie Factory, Darien Lake and miscellaneous waitress positions. Pat married Bill Davison at Friendship, N.Y. on Aug. 20, 1994. They were happily married for ten years until Bill's passing.
Ruth A. Dibble, age 89 of Canton, Pa., passed away at Bradford County Manor on Dec. 2, 2018. Ruth was born on Mar. 2, 1929 in Elizabeth, N.J., a daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (MacKinzie) Angerbauer, Jr.
Ruth was the wife of the late Russell Clark Dibble, Sr., a WWII Army veteran who preceded her in death in 1998. She was previously employed as the Assistant Superintendent at the Martha Lloyd School and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Troy. Ruth also taught horseback riding and competed in English riding at horse shows She enjoyed knitting, sewing, flowers and gardening. Janice (Holmes) Evans Dieffenbach, 84 of Canton, Pa., passed away at home while surrounded by family on Saturday, Nov., 10, 2018. Janice Ann was born in Canton Apr. 26, 1934, a daughter of the late Rodman Crawford and Ethel (Keagle) Holmes. She was a member of Canton High School’s class of 1952. In the early 1940s, the Holmes' children, who were part of the “Second Street Gang," held carnivals at the family home to raise funds towards the construction of Canton’s War Memorial Pool. A caring and supportive person, Janice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. In addition to the well-being of her family, she also enjoyed her involvement as a partner and the bookkeeper at Canton’s Dieffenbach Building Supply, and later the Canton Building Supply businesses. Jan will be remembered for her spontaneous wit and humor. She especially loved times shared with family and friends, the antics of her pampered cats and the excitement of watching the wildlife’s activities in her backyard. While surrounded by loved ones, Randy Lee DeVinney, 58 of Barbours, Pa., was called home to the Lord Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 from the Gatehouse in Williamsport. Born Oct. 13, 1959 in Bellefonte, Pa., Randy was a son of Barbara (Keller) Mills of Centre Hall, Pa. and the late Charles DeVinney. He was a 1977 graduate of State College High School and received an Associate’s degree in Forestry from the former. WACC in Williamsport, Randy enjoyed his career as a self-employed lumber broker. He was married to the former Sherry Hunter on Aug. 3, 2002 at their home. Randy will be lovingly remembered as a thoughtful and reserved person who sometimes kept to himself. He drew strength by spending time in the woods that he knew so well. Randy was also a devoted family man who cherished his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included woodworking, hunting, NASCAR’S Dale Earnhardt Sr., the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Rams. He was proud of his home, kept his yard immaculate and enjoyed listening to music, especially The Doors and George Thorogood. Kenneth T. Dunbar, 51, of Elizabethtown, Pa. passed away after a long courageous battle with Glioblastoma, brain cancer on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018 at the Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Sherry L. (Najarian) Dunbar. The couple married Oct. 4, 1996 and had 31 happy years together. Ken was born Oct. 2, 1967 in Sayre, Pa., son of Duane H. “Butch” and Donna J. (Lenox) Dunbar of East Smithfield, Pa. He was a 1985 graduate of SRU High School, attended Elizabethtown College, and graduated from Mansfield University in 1990. Ken finished his career in Information Technology with Armstrong World Industries. He played soccer in high school, enjoyed astronomy and sky watching, and was a passionate Disc Golf enthusiast. Ken was United Methodist by faith. Phyllis G. Deal, 92, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday September 11 2018 at the Guthrie Troy Community Hospital. Born September 8, 1926 in Roaring Branch, Phyllis was the last surviving child in the family of the late Joseph and Sadie (Smith) Good and a 1944 graduate of Canton High School. Phyllis was the wife of Robert Deal who passed away on June 9, 1976. She was employed as an accountant in Chittenango, NY for many years until retiring. Phyllis’ life was guided by her trust in the word of the Lord. She was of the Episcopal faith. Phyllis enjoyed being very independent and was a strong-willed lady. She also will be remembered as a kind person who was interested in her family and friends’ well-being. Blessed with a strong constitution, Phyllis remained mentally sharp and active throughout life. Her hobbies included reading and knitting. Cliff Davis, Jr., 81, of Troy, passed away while surrounded by loved ones at Guthrie Troy Community Hospital on Thursday, September 6, 2018. Born April 2, 1937 in Troy, Clifford Clifton Davis, Jr. was the son of the late Clifford and Viola (Woods) Davis. Cliff believed in a good day’s work and possessed a strong work ethic all of his life. He was a meat cutter with P & C Markets for 42 years, working throughout New York State. In earlier years, he also enjoyed working with the Troy Ambulance Association. The Christmas season was always very special to Cliff and he helped Santa Claus with appointments in the Troy area for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, especially projects with his grandsons, car rides in the country and setting on his back porch feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. Patrick A. Dandois, 69, Troy, PA, passed away on May 28, 2018 at Troy Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 20, 1949 in Troy, PA, a son of G.F. and Charlotte (Macomber) Dandois. Patrick had been employed with Cumming’s Lumber for over 37 years. He loved working with lumber, hunting, fishing, his home, his pool, collection of stuff and tools. He was a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church and the Troy American Legion. Patrick was a US Veteran having served in the Marines during the Vietnam Era. Marvin S. Driscoll, 92, Canton, PA passed away while surrounded by family on Wednesday morning, April 25, 2018 at Sherwood’s Personal Care Home in Canton. Marvin was born June 27, 1925 in Overton Township, Sullivan County. He was the last surviving of 10 children in the family of the late Fred and Harriet (McCarty) Driscoll. He grew up during the depression years. He proudly served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Okinawa for a year. On July 27, 1945, he married the former Jule Day. They shared 69 wonderful years together and raised four children before her passing on Jan. 3, 2015. In earlier years Marvin worked for GTE Sylvania in Towanda before going into the lumber business with brother-in-law, Keith McCarty. Eventually they established and operated the McCarty and Driscoll Lumber Company near Forksville for over 25 years. Marvin also enjoyed dairy farming and raising beef. Love for family always came first in Marvin’s life. He will be lovingly remembered as a true patriarch of the Driscoll families. Jenelle E. Davis, Age 29, of Gillett, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018.
She was born January 12, 1989 in Towanda, daughter of Paula (Oley) Davis Cacciavillano and James Davis. She was a graduate of Athens High School, obtained her Bachelors Degree Binghamton University and also was a paralegal. She currently was employed at Ageless Spa. Jenelle enjoyed her work and spending time with her nieces and nephews that she absolutely adored. |
