I feel really sorry for today’s small game hunters who have not had the opportunity to hunt the ring-necked pheasant. The experience of a male cock bird busting from cover and cackling loudly is certainly something vivid to the hunter. I have had the opportunity to hunt pheasants hundreds of times. It was always a fun hunt; especially with family and friends.
Wild Pheasants Again in Pennsylvania? – Part III
By Rev. Kenneth Marple, M.A. Beyond Reasonable Doubt
Doubt can be an important part of life if it launches one on a course that results in resolution; that is, doubters should work their way toward becoming believers whenever possible. Doubt is a major force in psychology, religion, and criminology. In criminology, it is usually not possible to prove innocence or guilt beyond a shadow of doubt; however, it is usually possible to prove it beyond reasonable doubt. By Canton Fitness Center Developed in India thousands of years ago, yoga has become an increasingly popular form of exercise in the United States. While there are more than one hundred different types of yoga, most sessions are typically comprised of breathing exercises, meditation, and moving into poses that stretch and flex various muscle groups. The great thing is that yoga delivers many benefits to those who incorporate it into their everyday lives and is a great tool for staying healthy.
By Evangelist Eric Smith “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will.” Ephesians 1:11. The next portion of the sentence we are pursuing is verse 11. The whole sentence is verse 3 through verse 14 of Ephesians chapter 1. Verse one through ten shows the plan and purpose of God has been revealed. From verse eleven through verse fourteen you will see the way God works out His plan. As you read different translations you will find a lot of variations for verse eleven. The most accurate translation is the American Standard Version which translates verse eleven this way: “in whom also we were made a heritage, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will”. The two translations will show how the revealed plan and purpose will be accomplished.
By Jim Lewis I just read where an ant can lift up to 5,000 times its body weight. That would be like a 175 pound person lifting 875,000 pounds! That would be about 438 tons. What an impressive engineering marvel the ant is, yet if a person steps on it, he has absolutely no chance of lifting him off. How about if you set your gallon of milk down on a moth at the picnic table? Let’s say that the moth is still alive under one of the cavities at the bottom of the milk jug. What is the likelihood that the trapped insect can lift the jug off and gain his freedom? I would say slim to none or less, and slim left town and none is packing his bags. Actually, the moth has NO chance by himself and from his perspective, he would need miraculous help.
The "SAGE" Will NEVER tell a DIRTY JOKE but sometimes he comes across one that is a bit RISQUE but still OK for Adult Readers. Here is one to be included in your next post to Aunt Nelly who is seven months along:
Students in an advanced Biology class were taking their mid-term exam. The last question was, 'Name seven advantages of Mother's Milk'. The question was worth 10 points for each correct answer. One student, in particular, was hard put to think of seven advantages. However, he wrote: 1) It is perfect formula for the child. 2) It provides immunity against several diseases. 3) It is always the right temperature. 4) It is inexpensive. 5) It bonds the child to mother, and vice versa. 6) It is always available as needed. And then the student was stuck. Finally, in desperation, just before the bell rang indicating the end of the test, he wrote: 7) It comes in two attractive containers and it's high enough off the ground where the cat can't get it. He got an A.+

I used a little of my time off this past weekend to get at least one batch of jam done for our upcoming fall bazaar at church (October 17). As it is the most tedious to do, I started out with the orange marmalade and it appears to have turned out pretty good – those that like it tell me, anyway. I find as the weather gets that “fall” feeling to it I have more ambition to pitch in and get “jammin’”. By Kathie Lepper It's another pot luck Monday here on "The Ridge". but I haven't noticed any enticing smells as yet. I'm sure there will be a delicious meal in the community room this evening, however.
